This software tool helps create tabs for MS Excel, letting users work on several spreadsheets simultaneously.
Workbook Tabs for Excel, originally named Excel Tab, lets you work on several worksheets together. Some very useful features are customization, excel keyboard shortcuts and easy mouse functions. Working on connected workbooks, without the tabs, leads to painful opening/ reopening of multiple instances of these worksheets. When not needed, these tabs can be disabled and similarly new tabs can be created easily, as needed. When tabbed, working through these tabs is very easy and convenient-as the addicts of multi-tab Internet browsers know. It is possible to adjust the tab bar colors, appearance and position, allowing users to preview their customizations in Excel Workbook Tabs` Setting Center. Enabling/disabling of the following features is useful. Confirmation is required for opening or closing of tabs so that these are not done mistakenly. Tab bar is hidden when there is only one tab active. Closing of tabs is by double clicking the left mouse button.
Tabs can be moved around the same way you can do it in multi-tab browsers. Close tabs with hot keys; alt N for example. You are free to define a set of hot keys for the operations on the tabbed tool. The tab bar and its color can be customized. As the basic interface is not interfered with, you do not need much familiarization time. All that is needed is to get used to this tab related features and you are ready to start using the convenience of the multiple tabs.
